How to reach Tanzania by flight

There are many international airlines reaching Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar international airports. Internal flights are connecting Kilimanjaro - Arusha with Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar.

When to go

The best time of the year to visit Tanzania is between June and October. Between December and March there are less tourists and the temperature is higher.

Luggage

We shall advise you to travel light as most of the trip will be on the safari vehicles. Remember your hand bag for the trekking.

Documents and Visa entry fees

Visas are issued directly at the airport or at the border with Uganda and Kenya and cost between 30 and 50 USD depending on the nationality.

Health requirements

It is no longer required the vaccinations against yellow fever in Tanzania. Risk of malaria is present.

Currency and Exchange rate

The currency is the Tanzanian Shilling (TSh). One dollar is about 1.000 TSh.

What to dress

Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.

Films are available in major towns. Photography is allowed a part from the restrictions on military buildings and officials or government institutions.
