Where do you go? this wonderful safari tour will take you through the national parks of the Northern Tanzania most popular circuit, including Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Lake Manyara and Tarangire national parks.
Attractions: game viewing in the national parks is amongst the most rewarding in Africa. Also cultural visits and sceneries are included.
When? the best period to visit Northern Tanzania parks is the dry season between June and August or December to March.
This is the most classic and rewarding safari itinerary in Tanzania. The starting point is the airport of Arusha Kilimanjaro. However the program itinerary could change according to the needs of visitors who prefer starting from Mwanza when coming from Uganda by ferry boat. Secondly the itinerary could end in Mwanza when visitors wish to complete the tour to Uganda along Lake Victoria.
Day 1 - Arusha - Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you meet our representative for the transfer to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area crossing on the way the small villages of Mto Wa Mbu and Karatu with unique views of the high altitude rain forest surrounding the ring. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge or Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. Distance: 190 km (4 hours).
Day 2 - Game viewing in Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast departure for a full day of game viewing discovering the beauty and abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor. Picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge or Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.
Day 3 - Ngorongoro - Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, depart to Serengeti National Park stopping on the way at Olduvai Gorge, the archaeological site made famous by Louis & Mary Leakey discoveries. Lunch and afternoon game drive in the most famous of all the sanctuaries and one of the last great strongholds of wildlife in the world. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge or Serengeti Sopa Lodge.
Distance: 145 km (3 hours 30 minutes).
Day 4 - Game viewing in Serengeti National Park
Morning and afternoon game drive in the park, with its huge concentration of plain game. Expect to see zebras, wildebeests, antelopes of all sorts , lions, giraffes, elephants among others. Full board and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge/Serengeti Sopa Lodge.
Day 5 - Serengeti - Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast depart to Lake Manyara National Park. Lunch and afternoon game drive in this superb scenic park set around Lake Manyara, most famous for the tree climbing lions and hippos in the lake. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge or Lake Manyara Hotel. Distance: 205 km (4 hours).
Day 6 - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast drive to Tarangire National Park for evening game viewing. Expect to see zebras, wildebeests, elephants among other game animals. Full board at Tarangire Sopa Lodge or Tarangire Safari Lodge.
Day 7 - Tarangire – Arusha
After breakfast and early morning game drive return to Arusha for transfer to the airport.
